Hugh Jenkins, MD


Dr. Jenkins joined Athens Pulmonary in 1987 after completing a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of South Carolina. He completed his Medical school at University of Louisville, Kentucky and then his residency at Emory University. He has been a leader in Critical-Care at Athens Regional Medical Center and is the Director of the ICU. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and Sleep medicine. He is a member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), the Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM) and American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). He has active privileges at Athens Regional Medical Center, Saint Mary’s Hospital, and Landmark Hospital in Athens. His interests include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis and critical-care medicine.  He currently sees his patients in Athens and Lavonia.
