Ben Butler, MD
Dr. Butler joined Athens Pulmonary in 2022 after completing a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Virginia Tech – Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke, VA. He is a Georgia native and a graduate of the University of Georgia, both of which played a major role in his decision to move back to Athens. After graduating from The Medical College of Georgia, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UAB-Montgomery where he stayed on for an additional year as Chief Resident and Junior Faculty. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Medicine, and he is board eligible for Critical Care Medicine. His clinical interests include general pulmonary medicine, interstitial lung disease, bronchoscopy, and critical care medicine. Dr. Butler is involved with the medical education programs at both Piedmont Athens Regional and St. Mary’s Hospital. He has active privileges at Piedmont Athens Regional, St. Mary's Hospital, and Landmark Hospital in Athens. In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Butler enjoys UGA football and mountain biking.
